A recent trip to the bank sparked a great conversation between Claire and I. She had many questions about writing checks, depositing and withdrawing money, earning interest. We talked about living on a budget, paying bills, etc. I explained that taking care of the family finances was something that I was responsible for.
As the conversation ended, Claire looked at me with a puzzled look and said, "But, mom, where do you get your money? I mean, you don't work..."
