Introducing...Julian

No, we didn't adopt a 16 year old. Julian is our exchange student from Germany. He came to us on Thursday and will stay for a month while he attends culture camp here in Spokane. We are quickly getting to know him and enjoy him. So far, we have gone to Riverfront Park and Splashdown. We introduced him to root beer floats and garage sales. When asked what he thinks about it all, he often replies, with a strong German accent...."This is a little bit crazy!" : )

"I can see so clearly!"

"I can see so clearly!" That's what Kailyn said when she got her very first pair of glasses yesterday. She's getting used to them. Having headaches. I told her I think she looks smarter with them on. Roland told her he thinks she looks older.

I'm still alive...really.

Sorry about the lack of posts for the past couple weeks. We were at camp last weekend. (See Roland's recent blog for a more detailed description.) It was a wonderful time with 46 kids, 36 of whom were unchurched. We brought up 27 staff to serve at the camp. It was a wonderful time in which we saw God answer many prayers. What a privilege to be involved in gospel ministry! Roland did an awesome job leading the camp. He wore many hats- he taught, led music, did crowd breakers. It was so much fun to be up there as a family serving together.

4th of July

We had a great Fourth of July! The Doughertys, Dykstras and Kerrs came over and spent the day with us. The kids had a great time playing together outside-all 12 of them.
We are so thankful to the Lord for the freedoms we enjoy in our country!
