Car Collision
We were driving home from our friends' house Sat. afternoon when a lady ran a red light. We didn't see her until a split second before we plowed into her. That brief moment of anticipation of the impact was awful, then the airbags, silence, then the screams. Roland wasn't moving, just moaning. I couldn't get my door open more than a few inches. I stumble out of the car and yell for help. Police, firemen, emergency room...
We are thankful to the Lord for his hand of protection on us. The kids were very shaken up, but not hurt. I have bruises on my hips, chest and nose where the seatbelt was and where the airbag hit. Roland has a broken rib, a hurt hand (he shattered the windshield with his hand...all the years of karate, he says), and is in lots of pain. We are both very sore, but on the road to recovery.
It sure has caused us to stop and ponder how fragile life is and how quickly everything can change.
James 4:14 You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is life? For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes...

Roland and Lanae,
So glad nobody was seriously injured in your car wreck. Praise God for His protective care. Praying God quickly heals Rolands hand and ribs and all the bumps and bruises and for God to make the insurance and getting another car as smooth a process as possible. Blessings to your family!
How scary for you all, I'm a bit shaken up just reading about it.... I'm so very thankful that no one was more seriously injured. We love you and will be praying for a quick recovery for you and Roland.
